Please remember that you are to do your assignments, not constantly check your E-mail or Twitter. Checking it quickly for the first 5 minutes is fine as well as the last 5 minutes of class. Beyond that, you should have your email closed as well as any Internet sites that are irrelevant to the topic/chapter we are currently studying.

TUESDAY

1. Cover Letters are due. Please turn them in.

2. Open your 1Note notes. We will finish Chapter 4 notes today. Click through the following links, typing the information into your notes.

4. Please complete the Terms from Chaper 4 & the questions from Chapter 4 in your 1Note Notes. The sub will give you about 10-15 minutes to complete these.

5. Have a class discussion over the questions. Go over the terms. There will be a quiz over chapter 4 on THURSDAY!!!!!!! Please study your notes and all of chapter 4: Personal Data Sheet & parts, Resume & parts, Job Application, Contacting Employers, Employment Tests & Civil Service Tests.

5. Begin Chapter 5. You will need to add a new section to your 1Note Notes for Chapter 5.

5a. Before you begin your notes, the sub will pass out an Interview Questionnaire. Complete JUST the FIRST 5 Questions - Before the Interview

6. Now, continue, just like above, click the links below to type the information into your notes.

8. Review the notes you just took and compare them to what you wrote down on your worksheet. Discuss with class. What did you miss? What did you write down that was incorrect or not quite what you thought? Discuss as a class for 5 or so minutes.

9. Complete the next set of 5 questions in the Interview Questionnaire.

THURSDAY

1. Take the Chapter 4 quiz 1st. You may review your notes for the first 10 minutes of class.

2. When you are finished, you will need to open 1Note, get your Interview Questionnaire out that was started on Wednesday and continue where you left off.

3. Answer the last 5 questions in your Interview Questionnaire

6. Assignment: Complete the terms for Chapter 5 into your 1Note Notes - this will probably take 5-10 minutes. Review together as a class. Page 73? (Double-check) NO QUIZ ON TUESDAY!!

7. The sub will pass out Typical Interview Questions. Take a look through the questions for about 5 minutes. Each table needs to pick out 3 questions that you aren't sure of how to answer. As a class, each table shares 1 of the questions they picked out and discuss what the best possible answer should be in a job interview and why. This activity should last about 15-20 minutes. The Interview Question Packets go into student binders behind Miscellaneous

8. The sub will also pass out Do's & Don'ts of Interviewing. Each table should look at the list of things to avoid and thing to do for Job Interviewing. Each table should pick out 2-3 items that really stand out. Share as a class - write them on the board. Why did that item stand out? Discuss. (this should take about 10-15 minutes?) This packet also goes into the student binders in Miscellaneous

9. If there is time left, the students can use this time to do any make-up work: If they don't have their Resume or Cover Letter handed in, it should be turned in TODAY!!!! Students may also reprint any pages of their portfolio if they'd like. They can also finish their Newspaper Ads page of their portfolio.
